SynControl Quality Inspection Software
Onboarding Process

Before your team uses SynControl the quality inspection software needs to be configured to your needs, and they need to be trained. New software can’t be integrated into your existing quality inspection processes overnight, so this page walks you through the onboarding steps we generally follow to get our customers from: “This is interesting” to “it helps us a lot”.

Help & improve

Step 1: you request a demo and give us some information about your situation

Step 1: You request a demo and give us some information about your unique situation

Requesting a demo of SynControl takes 2 minutes. After that we’ll get in touch with you and ask for some extra information. It helps us understand your situation and prepare for a demo centered on showing how SynControl fulfills YOUR needs.

Step 2: live demo of the SynControl Software

Step 2: Live demo of the SynControl Software

We typically provide a face-to-face demo to companies located in China (in the Shanghai or Shenzhen/Hong Kong areas). If a decision maker is based abroad, a video call can be scheduled initially.

The presentation and Q&A session lasts for 40-60 min, including a partial software demo of the web platform (used by the office staff daily to get the real-time inspection findings) and the mobile app (used by inspectors to do their job more effectively and store results in the cloud), but cannot include every feature.

Should you need to see a very specific feature, please let us know before the demo and we will let you know if the initial demo is the right time for that.

The result of the demo is the decision of whether SynControl might be a good fit for your company.

Step 3: a test in a factory

Step 3: Pilot test

To aid in your decision, chances are you need to see the SynControl app in use by quality inspectors, from A to Z in one area of your facility. The most common approaches here are:

  • Some companies want to start with outgoing quality control (if many issues slip by and impact customers), and will move to in-process QC and incoming QC later.
  • Some companies want to start with an area of a workshop and support the entire [incoming QC – in-process QC – outgoing QC] sequence in that area.
  • Some companies want to train & equip one of their key suppliers’ staff first.
The onboarding fee will depend on the scope and complexity of this pilot test.

Step 4: Complete configuration

Once the pilot test has given positive results, there are usually a number of remaining configurations to get right, as other areas adopt SynControl.

Note that a good approach is designed in several deployment stages. For example, one phase every 3 months.
Here again, configuration/customization fees will depend on the scope and complexity of your company’s needs.

What if we have very specific needs and your app can’t support them?

The factory tests will help us understand your usual process and see if any requirements absolutely have to be in place. There are typically four situations:

SynControl can already be configured to support your needs.

SynControl can put this in place soon – we can confirm a date by which the missing feature is in place, based on the condition that your company signs our contract and goes ahead. We will show you how to “get around” that issue in the meantime.

SynControl can put this in place but it is not useful to most other users – if you pay for custom development we can commit to get it done by a certain date.

SynControl estimates that it is not compatible with its overall logic or roadmap and cannot commit to doing it at the moment.

Step 5: License agreement

We sign a contract that stipulates the plan you chose (see our plans & pricing) and each party’s obligations.

Note that this contract can be cancelled at any time without extra cost.

Step 6: keep helping your team!

Step 6: Keep helping your team!

SynControl is dedicated to the success of every customer. We are happy to keep helping your team get the most out our software. Free support is included in our plans.

We can also help you improve the way you manage the QA/QC operations in your team and move closer to best practices. If our e-books and some quick phone calls are not enough, we can dedicate some consulting time (extra fees generally apply).
